Greetings and wutrthechances?

Here is a link to a list of historical coincidences. The website has quite a funny name, and the coincidences reported are quite strange indeed.

For starters, consider this coincidence (from the above link). I chose it because it refers to a warm childhood memory about stories. I think it is rather heart warming, albeit really extraordinary, coincidence:

Anne Parish was an American author and she was looking through a bookstore with her husband one day in the 1920s. Coming across a book titled, “Jack Frost and Other Stories,” she told her husband how much she had loved the book as a child. Her husband thought he would buy the book for her and picked it up. Opening the book, he found written on the flyleaf, “Anne Parish, 209 N. Webster Street, Colorado Springs.” This book was the exact book that Anne Parish had treasured so much as a young girl.

What is this blog about?

Wutrthechances is a place to share stories that are highly improbable. Sometimes amazing things happen in ordinary times...sometimes we see a person on the street we had been thinking about earlier (but never imagined we would actually see them in person!). Sometimes we realize that there is a place that connects people in a mysterious way. Other times, we find what we are looking for without ever imagining it would ever be there. Coincidence is alarming and exciting and sometimes frightening. Whatever the scientific odds of even the most incredible or seemingly impossible of events to occur, the fact of the matter is extraordinary things really do happen. And Wutrthechances is a place to share those stories. So please, tell me a bit about those "chance" events. Give it a chance if you will. I will try and do the same.
